The Story:
With their race on the brink of total destruction, The Others must pool the last of their magic to perform a dangerous spell that will turn all but three of them to ash. Holding the survival of their people in their hands and the power of resurrection at their fingertips, Rosa, Rebecca and Scarlett spirit themselves across the globe to settle in a remote Australian country town... only to find their dream of sanctuary quickly turning into another nightmare. The women’s efforts to bring healing to this broken, drought-stricken place sees them run afoul of the self-appointed matriarch of the town and branded as witches, leading to a town divided and a battle of magical proportions.
The Creators:
Once upon a time, two creative outcasts joined forces to form a mystical alliance... and, out of this unholy union, Cinema Viscera, a defiantly different independent film company, came into being to tell stories found in the darker corners of the human psyche. These two, known to the world at large as Perri Cummings and Paul Anthony Nelson, have been working their own strange kind of magic for a decade, crafting stories into magical moving images for big and small screens. But when they felt the impulse to create a new story, not only filled with rich, beautiful images but creating a world, filled with wonder and horror, a new creative journey began. To bring this new tale to life, they were joined by a third creative force... one powerful with the pen (both analog and digital), an artist with her own kind of sorcery, a mage of dreams, web comics, murals and art of all kinds: Jess Dubblu, aka Jess Wilson. By the hands of this power of three, Cinema Viscera's first webcomic, The Others, began its journey and a new, dark fairy tale was born.
